The introducer of the Pilates method in Spain has combined its applications in Fitness with rehabilitation techniques to create a revolutionary equipment:
From the hand of Juan Carlos Hurtado, with a long business career, PILATES SPRINGBOARD® was born. He worked as a rehabilitator and osteopath in different ballets such as Víctor Ullate, Antonio Márquez, Nuevo Ballet Español, José Porcel, or Rafael Amargo. Supporting the Teatro Real in Madrid, he has treated great dance figures such as Tamara Rojo, Ángel Corella, María Jiménez, Igor Yebra, Julio Boca, Sylvie Guillem and Pietragalla, among others. In 2001 he introduced the first Pilates course – from New York – in Spain and represented the School of Gideon Avrahami and Stott Pilates, conducting seminars with international figures such as Gordon Thomson, Lina Robinson or Siri Dharma. Being a rehabilitation expert in various pathologies, in addition to its application in fitness, Hurtado has been a pioneer in combining the Pilates method for rehabilitation, introducing a course with these characteristics at the European University of Madrid through the physiotherapy department with Carolina Walquer, collaborating also with the Autonomous University of Madrid and INEF. As a result of his experience, he has created Pilates Springboard® Evo-T Ecologic. The machine that is revolutionizing Pilates and Fitness around the world.
